Edmondson
job
Mr.
and Mrs. Edmondson wanted a poolside structure in which
they could entertain guests. The structure had to provide
some protection from the sun, and the architectural style
should match their beautiful house. The challenge was to
create a structure that would offer some degree of privacy
from the neighboring houses, yet would still feel open to
a very nice wooded yard. Our solution was to create a pergola
with beautiful detailing including a back wall consisting
of a handmade trellis and a widely spaced grid for a ceiling.
After the landscaping is completed, the back wall of the
pergola will host flowering vines to further blend the structure
and the wooded yard.

Davis job
Miss
Davis had an existing deck that was very large, yet it had
little usable space. She wanted a new deck with some large
spaces suitable for entertaining and dining. She also wanted
some storage area below the new deck, since her homeowners'
association forbid storage sheds. Our challenge was to create
a deck that did not block her fantastic waterfront views,
yet was safe for her small children. Our solution was to
build the dining area of the deck as low as possible and
use a clear acrylic picket for a nearly invisible rail system.

Jackson job
Mr.
and Mrs. Jackson needed some way to get to the small island
in their private lake. Since the island was several feet
from the shore, handrails were required for safety. Our
challenge was to create a bridge that did not intrude on
the beautiful lake, but provided an accent to its graceful
curves. Our solution was to build an arched bridge with
a handrail that extended all the way to the ground. This
eliminated the harsh lines of a typical handrail.

Judge job
The
Judges love to be outside. The problem was, their community
is all attached housing, which means their neighbors are
practically right on top of them. Our challenge was to create
a private deck that still feels like it is part of the outdoors.
Our solution was to build privacy panels on each end of
the deck that are small enough so that the view into the
yard is still open. The panels are also designed so that
airflow is not significantly restricted.

Anderson
job
The
shape of this deck was actually drawn by a landscape architect.
This was a beautiful design that the Andersons were quite
happy with. Our challenge was to bring the design to life,
ensuring the structural aspect of the deck met our stringent
guidelines without compromising the vision of the deck's
designer.
